On May 31 - June 2, Campomanes Bay Green Alert Negros, in cooperation with the Coral Triangle Initiative on Coral Reefs, Fisheries and Food Security (CTI-CFF), and partner groups will be holding the 20th Palawood - an annual coastal event that has become the venue for initiatives and discussions involving specific issues around the oceans. This event is the reason why Negros Occidental in the Philippines has the Sagay Marine Reserve. It has since catalyzed many other similar outcomes in the province.
On June 6 from 8 to 10am, CTI Partners will converge to show their support for Coral Triangle Day and present the activities that will happen on June 9. A press conference will follow at Imperial Palace Water Park Resort and Spa in Mactan.

Beach clean ups will be conducted in the following areas: Municipality of Cortes- Surigao del Sur, Municipality of San Francisco-Cebu, Municipality of Ubay-Bohol, Municipality of Lubang, Occidental Mindoro, Maribago Cove, Dakit-Dakit Marine Sanctuary and Kontiki Area (supported by Bluewater Resorts), Barangays Ibo, Mactan, Punta Engano, Buaya in Lapu Lapu City, Barangays Simandagit and Suwangkagang, Pasiagan, Mun. of Bongao, Province of Tawi-Tawi, Hondura Beach in Puerto Galera town (Green fins), and Barangay Balibago, Calatagan, Batangas.
Mangrove plantings will be conducted in the following coastal areas: Municipality of Cortes, Surigao del Sur, Municipality of San Francisco, Cebu, Philippines Sitio Langayan, Bgy Poblacion, Taytay, Palawan, Naval Forces Central Compound in Mactan Island, Brgy. Kalawisan in Lapu-Lapu and in Naga LGU, and Barangay Balibago, Calatagan, Batangas.
On June 9 from 9 to 11am, volunteer scuba divers and dive operators will conduct simultaneous underwater clean-ups in two communities in Lapu Lapu City.
On June 9 at 10am, Shangri-la Hotel will launch a fish house which will be located in their beach front.
WWF-Philippines has partnered with the Tubbataha Management Office in celebrating the second Coral Triangle Day. A day-long celebration will take place at the Palawan National High School in Puerto Princesa City. The city is the gateway and jump-off point to the Tubbataha Reefs, one of the most biologically diverse and productive areas within the Coral Triangle.
The Tubbataha Management Office (TMO) and the World Wide Fund for Nature Philippines (WWF-Philippines) have partnered to celebrate the Coral Triangle Day in Puerto Princesa City. The city is the gateway and jump-off point to the Tubbataha Reefs, one of the most biologically diverse and productive areas within the Coral Triangle. The highlight of the festivities is a mural painting activity led by AG, a WWF-Philippines Hero of the Environment and a Filipino mural artist who has gone across the country to promote marine conservation through art. Participants include volunteer artists plus allies of TMO and WWF-Philippines. Through the Coral Triangle Day, TMO and WWF-Philippines seek to raise awareness about marine conservation, and empower the public to take concrete action to care for our oceans. The day-long celebration will also highlight the Tubbataha Reefs' 25th Anniversary as a Marine Protected Area.

A public awareness campaign will be conducted from 28 to 29 May to raise awareness on the need for proper waste management among local communities living around the Tondano Rivers (Kab. Minahasa), local government staff of Minahasa, and primary school students.
In celebration of the Coral Triangle Day, Surfer Girl will be displaying 4 artworks on their Facebook page with more than 2.8 million followers. Surfer Girl will be donating IDR 1,000 for each SHARE to support Coral Triangle Conservation program
Surfer Girl and WWF-Indonesia are conducting a Save the Coral Triangle Tagline Contest from 2 to 30 June. This contest is open to the people of all ages.
APRU International Symposium on Coastal Cities, Marine Resources and Climate Change in the Coral Triangl
A beach clean-up event will be held on 5 June from 08.00 to 15.00 WITA. This event aims to encourage the general public, local governments of Minahasa, and NGOs to take action to clean up the beach from inorganic waste. This will be held in Tanawangko Village, Tombariri District, Minahasa Region, North Sulawesi Province and will be participated by 300 around people.
5,000 mangrove seedlings will be planted on 7 June from 11.00 to 15.00 WITA in the village of Kumu. This will be done by local community members, NGO and private sector partners, government staff, and students from Sam Ratulangi University.
Riding on Coral Triangle Day, WWF-Indonesia will conduct a fundraising campaign related to marine conservation. Two programs will be conducted: Face2Face Campaign with WWF’s In-house team for the offline program; and campaigning for virtual spot buying at mycoraltriangle.com for the online program. Both will be promoted during the event where people can directly donate online. There will be a special gimmick for people who sign up and donate during the event and may receive marine turtle plush toys and pins for certain donation amounts. The event will run from 6 to 30 June. Come find our special pretty booth with marine species and coral designs! Our booth will be open from 9am to 6pm.
On June 7 from 9am to 5pm, there will be a seminar at Hotel Graha Ayu, Mataram to formulate innovative strategies to reduce marine debris in the Western Coast of Mataram Municipality. This will be attended by 50 to 100 people. There will be a training on Trash Management Techniques the next day,<strong> 8 June</strong> from 9am to 12nn at Bintaro Beach, Ampenan.
A coral planting activity will be held on 7 June from 10.00 to 15.00 WITA in Kumu Village. This will be done using a Coral Settlement Device (CSD). Coral seeds from an on-site nursery will be moved to areas with the most damaged coral condition.
This will be participated by students from the Faculty of Marine and Fisheries of Sam Ratulangi University, private sector partners (dive center), NGOs, and other relevant agencies.
As many as 500 turtle hatchlings will be released on 7 June from 10.00 to 10.30 in Kumu Village. This will be done by local community members, NGO and private sector partners, government staff, and students from Sam Ratulangi University
On 8 June, there will be a film screening and shadow puppet performance from 8 to 11pm at Bintaro Beach, Ampenan. Over 1,000 people are expected to attend this event, which aims to promote mitigation & adaptation on coastal disaster and climate change.
The Coral Triangle Centre, together with the Body Shop Indonesia will be joining the Marine Foundation to commemorate the World Ocean Day on June 8 from 2pm to 8pm at the Kuta Beachwalk mall in Kuta, Bali. The CTC will host educational games, fun presentations, and a speech at the opening of a month-long ocean photography exhibition. The exhibition itself will run for 4 weeks.
This event is geared towards general public and will be held in the newest, busy shopping mall in Kuta, Bali."

For a minimum donation of IDR250,000 (minimum of 5 virtual spots) donors will get a marine turtle plush toy (for Indonesia residents only).
On Sunday, 9 June, there will be a beach clean-up on the beaches of of Ampenan, Bintaro & Loang Balok/Tanjung Karang from 7 to 10am. More than 1,500 people are expected to participate. June 9 will be capped with an Acknowledgement Night filled with musical performances by Trie Utami, Ray D'Sky & Sould ID. This event is being held to raise funds for a local organization working on marine debris and to acknowledge the most dedicated This will be held from 7 to 11pm at Sangkareang Park, Mataram. More than 1,500 people are expected to attend.
On June 9, the CTC will once again open its doors to school children (aged 9-15) to teach them about the marine environment through fun and engaging games and activities. They will also get to watch a video on corals and the sea. Guest speakers with various background (conservationists, divers, surfers, fishermen) will be talking about their professions and their love of the sea. The event will be open from 10am to 3pm at the CTC office on Jalan Danau Tamblingan No 78, Sanur, Bali 80228.
This is an annual event to engage the young generation and our neighbors and partners alike in commemorating the Coral Triangle Day in a fun way.
White Dolphin Save The Corals is a ceremonial event to celebrate The Coral Triangle Day in Donggala area, Central of Sulawesi, Indonesia. There will be coral transplant and cleaning, beach cleaning, fun snorkeling and children coloring competition. This event will be supported by local government and society.
From 6 to 10am on June 9, there will be a public campaign to collect petitions to stop shark finning and shark consumption.
This will be done in conjunction with “Car Free Day.” The celebration will be hosted by Rico Ceper and Jeremy Tety. There will also be several performers on stage (i.e. Billy Beat Box, Bexxa, and Agung Hercules).
There will also be a shark ogoh-ogoh, a bicycle and skate parade, a photo booth, theater performances, and a flash mob to add to the excitement.
#SOSharks (Save Our Sharks), launched on 12 May 2013, is a campaign to stop shark trade in markets, online stores and restaurants in Jakarta through mass media. This campaign is also supported by public figures, the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, chefs and athletes.
WWF will present singing-storytelling activities on marine and Coral Triangle issues on 16 and 30 June at 2pm at the main atrium stage of the Grand City Mall.
On 21 June, North Sulawesi hopes to break the record for the longest photo exhibition line in Indonesia.
This photo exhibition will highlight the harmony between human life and the sea, through photography, carrying the theme: “Embody human life in harmony with the sea.

A coloring contest and puppet show will be held on 21 June from 10.00 to 14.00 WITA, to educate elementary school children on marine life. The event will be held in Mega Mall, Manado.

8 June will mark the opening celebration of the World Oceans Day and the Coral Triangle Day. Celebrity chef Bobby Chinn will grace the event and do a cooking demo of a seafood dish made from responsibly-sourced seafood products.

On 9 June, WWF-Malaysia will launch an updated version of the Seafood Guide and its website. This Seafood Guide will help people choose more responsibly-caught seafood.
On June 10 and 11, there will be a conference to highlight the achievements of the Coral Triangle Initiative on Coral Reefs, Fisheries & Food Security (CTI-CFF) Programme in Malaysia.

In the week leading up to the Coral Triangle Day, short informational videos will be shown every hour on Timor Leste's only TV station. CTI success stories will also be published in the daily newspaper and announced daily on the radio. The streets will also be decked with Coral Triangle Banners.
On June 8, an interactive workshop on marine biodiversity will be held. This workshop will run in partnership with the Coral Triangle Support Partnership (CTSP) and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)
CTI partners in Papua New Guinea will be holding a Coral Triangle Awareness event on 6 June from 9 to 10am. Hosted by a well-known radio personality, the event will have formal speeches from the CTI National Coordinating Committee and District Members of Parliament. The event will also launch the Coral Triangle Day 2014 Logo Competition. Informative booths and stalls will also be set up around the venue.
On 6 June 2013 from 10 to 11am, captured turtles from local wet markets will be released. Special guests will tag these turtles, to help monitor their movements at sea.
On 6 June 2013 from 11am to 12nn, local organizations, schools, and the general public will conduct a beach clean-up activity on Ela Beach. Music and entertainment will be provided to make this activity fun!
On 6 June 2013 from 1 to 2pm, a trash sorting activity will be conducted. Data from this activity will be used for an infographics material to help raise awareness on waste management. This is being organized by DEC, the University of PNG, and the District Commission to help educate nearby communities on the importance of waste management.

There will be a Gallery Exhibition by Coral Triangle Initiative key implementing partners in the Solomon Islands, which will highlight their key successes and challenges in carrying out the National Plan of Action in conserving the Coral Triangle. The morning session is open to government officials and donor partners, while the afternoon session will be opened to the public.
